It is hard to believe that it is almost time for the snow to fly again! It has been a very busy summer and fall. Now that things have settled down a bit I can let you know things went over the summer. Keith did really well with his champagnes at the 4-h Fair. He got Grand Champion Single Fryer with CT2 and third overall in meat pens. That is not an easy task with a champagne! He also got BOB with Mini Lops and the Champagnes.
We then went on to show at the Illinois State Fair. He did fairly well there too. Tinkerbell placed 1st out of 7 entries in Sr does and went on to get BOS. CT2 placed 2nd in the jr doe class while CT4 was 4th out of 8. The Mini Lops did well there too. We had a jr broken buck get BOS in the IRBA State fair show-youth. So we were real happy on how the show went for only our first time showing there.
We went last weekend to the ARBA National Convention in Indianapolis to look around and experience what it would be like. WOW it was very busy. Maybe one day we will be able to show there! Right now we have 2 litters of 6 week old mini lops---2 brokens, 2 opals, and 2 chestnut agoutis. The Champagnes will be bred again mid December so we have some 6-8 month Champagnes for the summer season. All in all not a bad year for Bauer Bunnies we learned a lot. Here is to next year being even better
